A dissemination event co-organised by LIRNEasia and the National University of Singapore (NUS) will be held on 22 June 2010 in Singapore. The event will feature research findings from LIRNEasia’s project “Mobile 2.0”.
A one day tutorial session will be held prior to the dissemination event on 21 June 2010.

The International Communication Association (ICA) and the Communication Association of Japan (CAJ) is organizing the ICA Preconference in Tokyo, to be held 19 and 20 June 2010. Given that the ICA conference will be held in Asia, CAJ would like to take the opportunity to celebrate the occasion by offering a program of some very special events dealing with The Communication Discipline in Asia.
The Singapore Internet Research Centre (SiRC) is organising the ICA 2010 pre-conference workshop, “Innovations in Mobile Use”.
The Mobiles pre-conference seeks to examine innovations in a variety of societal contexts highlighting different phenomena of cell phone uses. The workshop will aim to foster discussions around how developments in emerging markets reflect the trends in mature markets, and assess potential for the cross-pollination of information and communications technologies for development and/or empowerment.
You are invited to submit a 500-word extensive abstract focusing on the social scientific understanding of mobile communication, including the following themes:

It will draw together research constituting evidence for and against this emerging Mobile2.0 narrative in the context of the larger social-science understanding of mobile-use behavior.
