Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI) of India is organizing a National Forum on Mobile Applications. The forum will commence from April 7 to 9, 2010 at New Delhi, India. The theme is "Mobile Applications for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development". The purpose of the initiative is to consult and appraise the stakeholders regarding global developments in mobile applications, next generation telecom reforms and citizen centric applications of mobile and new media technologies as well as enhance the capacity of various government agencies in conceptualizing and deploying inclusive e-Governance projects. In addition to government agencies, experts from various parts of the globe are invited to share their experiences and learning practices with the participants during three day deliberations.

The call for papers for the International Telecommunications Society (ITS) 18th Biennial Conference is announced. The conference will be held from June 27 to 30, 2010, in Tokyo, Japan. The Conference theme is "Culture, Communication and the Cutting Edge of Technology".
This is a commemorative conference to celebrate the silver anniversary of ITS conferences worldwide. A quarter of century has passed since the first conference under the name of ITS was held in 1986 in Tokyo.

INTRODUCTION
With the support of the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy, a conference is being organized by the Center for Mobile Communication Studies at Rutgers University on the topic of how mobile communication influences social policy.
Broad in its conception, the conference aims to produce new insights into the topic. Subjects to be addressed will range from mobiles and social programs (initiation through evaluation) to how mobile technology is used in political campaigns and to influence the social policy environment.
There will be both an open call for papers and invited talks. Presenters are being asked to combine empirical data (either qualitative or quantitative) with important theoretical issues to address the mobile communication-social policy nexus.
