  • Grace Mirandilla, a consultant (ICT Research Specialist) for the Asian Development Bank's Regional and Sustainable Development Department (RSDD), participated in the 4th Knowledge Exchange Conference (KEC) for Community eCenters (CeCs) on April 3-4, 2008 in Manila organized by the Philippine Commission on Information and Communication Technology (CICT). Her presentation, was titled "Support System for Community eCenters".

  • Shariar Akthar, a PhD candidate of University of Tsukuba, Japan presented a paper titled ‘A sustainable village phone model to serve the rural developing world’. It was presented at the Oxford Conference on Confronting the Challenge of Technology for Development: Experiences from the BRICS - Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, University of Oxford, May 29-30, 2008.

His paper titled 'Mobile Informations services Marketing to serve the BOP market' has been published in IEEE electronic journal.

 

  • ICT4D: A Case Study of the UNDP Project in Western China” is co-authored by Zhao Jinqui.  She is an associate professor in the International Communications College, Communication University of China (Beijing).

  • Cheryll Soriano, PhD student at the National University of Singapore has co-authored the paper, "Towards Universal Internet Access in the Philippines". The paper is published by Ideacorp, Inc with support from Intel Technology Philippines, Inc. The paper identifies the gaps in current telecommunications policy in the Philippines as well as emerging trends and opportunities. The paper was finalized after consultation/study meetings and draft reviews by members of Philippine ICT-related government offices, private sector, academe, and civil society representatives.
