ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
CPRsouth3 will offer researchers the opportunity to discuss their research on ICT regulation and policy in the South with a policy-oriented, international audience and obtain useful feedback. A training session on media interaction will also be held for participants. Alongside the conference tutorial sessions will be held for Young Scholars on the fundamentals of technology, markets, regulation and policy.

Participants
The conference is designed to accommodate 21 paper presenters over the course of 2.5 days, and the audience will be made up of 70-80 scholars involved in the field of ICT policy and regulation, broadly defined, including 30 Young Scholars.
Location
Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunication (BUPT) is one of the leading research-oriented Universities in China. Located in the north-west quadrant of the 3rd ring of China's capital, the spacious campus faces the ruins of ancient Yuan Dynasty capital walls and the scenic Xiaoyue River. One of the four great capitals of China, home to generations of Chinese imperial dynasties and the location for the 2008 Olympiad, Beijing is where history meets the future. The conference excursions include a tour of Tiananmen Square and the Beijing Palace Museum, as well as a trip to the Badaling Great Wall of China sponsored by the School of Economics and Management (SEM), BUPT.
Visas
Visas are required to enter China, with very few exceptions. Letters will be provided for this purpose by BUPT after participant selections have been made. Participants are strongly advised to initiate visa approval procedures immediately thereafter.

LIRNEasia is a regional information and communication technology (ICT) policy and regulation research and capacity building organization, based in Sri Lanka. LIRNEasia seeks to identify the institutional constraints on effective use of ICTs to improve the lives of the people of Asia-Pacific; work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to catalyze changes conducive to greater participation by users and suppliers; and contribute to building capacity within the region for evidence-based intervention in the public-policy process.
