International Anti-Corruption Conference: Call for workshop proposals

The 14th IACC will feature forty interactive workshops and five plenary sessions, each revolving around one of the key “Global Challenges” of the Conference. The Conference will take place from 10 – 13 November 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Proposals are welcome, from anyone who shares the interest in finding effective solutions to corruption. The call is currently open, so please read through this section carefully to find out just what you need to do to submit a proposal.

Four key global challenges stand out for this year’s Conference. These global challenges in some way or another affect us all – and for this reason we are looking for solution oriented workshop proposals. Restoring Trust for Greater Peace and Security

Fuelling Transparency and Accountability in the Natural Resources and Energy Markets

Climate Governance: Ensuring a Collective Commitment

Strengthen Global Cooperation for an Accountable Corporate World

Gathering around 1,500 participants from around the world, will work together to:

a) Produce strategies to overcome the effects of corruption on human security, climate governance, natural resources and energy markets, the corporate world
b) Propose strategies to overcome the stumbling blocks impeding effective multi stake holder engagement.
c) Find solutions to implementation challenges of anti-corruption instruments from a global to local level
d) Showcase and facilitate effective partnership building
e) Incorporate new actors and innovative strategies in the fight against corruption
f) Map out and assess emerging trends and future scenarios in the fight against corruption
g) Enrich the global debate by showcasing the Host country and region experiences

Before beginning your workshop proposal, be sure to:


1. Read the Global Challenges page and see where your workshop idea fits best
2. Gather your thoughts and consider the Conference Objectives and Working Questions, and make sure you incorporate them into your proposal

The call for proposals will be open until 31 March 2010.
