Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI) of India is organizing a National Forum on Mobile Applications. The forum will commence from April 7 to 9, 2010 at New Delhi, India. The theme is “Mobile Applications for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development”. The purpose of the initiative is to consult and appraise the stakeholders regarding global developments in mobile applications, next generation telecom reforms and citizen centric applications of mobile and new media technologies as well as enhance the capacity of various government agencies in conceptualizing and deploying inclusive e-Governance projects. In addition to government agencies, experts from various parts of the globe are invited to share their experiences and learning practices with the participants during three day deliberations.
The proposed forum offers an opportunity for the m-governance professionals, government practitioners, industry, civil society organizations and academia to present innovative project ideas on mobile applications, learning from existing initiatives and research papers as per the themes of the forum. The World Bank is the knowledge partner for the proposed forum.
Selected papers from the conference will be considered for publication in the conference proceedings and for further pursuance. The selected authors may also be invited to present their papers during the national forum on mobile applications.
Submission details:
Abstract details: The Abstract should be a minimum of 1000 and no more than 1500 words including keywords. Abstracts have to include the proposed title for the paper, the full names, addresses and email addresses of all authors and contact details for at least one author.
Full paper: Only required after acceptance of abstract and not to be more than 5,000 words including abstract, keywords and references.
Important information:
The selection paper review panel of the conference will consider all abstracts received by the submission deadline to ensure that the proposed paper is relevant to the Conference. The authors of abstracts that submit a relevant paper will receive a notification of abstract acceptance. All full papers will be double‐blind reviewed by members of the advisory board to ensure an adequate standard, that the proposed subject of their abstract has been followed, that the paper is of a suitable length, the standard of English is adequate and the paper is appropriately referenced. Papers that are accepted will be published in the conference proceedings. Due to the large number of papers expected for this conference, the committee only allows an author to present one paper.
