RIA wants to fill the following position:
Researcher
Research ICT Africa (RIA) is a public interest ICT policy and regulatory research think tank based in Cape Town, South Africa and which hosts a network of researchers from 20 African countries in the broad field of ICT policy and regulation. The network seeks to contribute to the development of a sustainable information society and knowledge economy across the African continent.
Applicants for the position should have a Masters Degree in economics, law or politics and preferably with a focus on ICT or infrastructure policy and regulation. The applicant must have at least three years research experience or work experience in the area of policy and regulation.
The Researcher will be responsible for:
- Conducting research and assisting with analysis for and preparation of public policy papers, requiring competence in online research, extracting information from reports, working with databases, administering questionnaires and conducting interviews;
- Preparing presentations and reports for dissemination, requiring competence in presentation software packages, and publication in academic publications, requiring knowledge of academic style and formatting;
- Preparation of proposals and tenders and the writing up of research products, requiring excellence in written English.
